When the sun starts to shine the people of Melbourne flock to the beach to enjoy the glimpse of hot weather that is upon them. One major hot spot situated right on St Kilda Beach is the very cool restaurant/beach bar called Republica. People were dressed to the nines in their floral jump suits, revealing singlets and the hair and makeup were flawless. If you are looking to people watch and be among the elite crowd of Melbourne, this is definitely the spot for you. Everyone sipped cocktails in the sunshine and enjoyed the beach vibes that Republica emitted. The atmosphere reminded me of a day on a beach in California, the vibes were extremely feel good and carefree which is exactly what you want on the first warm day. For those looking for a fun way to spend your summer days and nights, Republica is definitely the place for you. You can watch the sunset while sipping delicious strawberry margaritas and relax as long as you feel like. So my advice for some fun in the sun is definitely spending a day at Republica on St Kilda Beach.

I haven’t done too much traveling but I have decided it is in my best interest to become a world traveler. My goal is to make it to all my dream places before I am 30. Among my very long list of travel hot spots, Ibiza lays at number one. Now to some of you this may seem typical of a young girl who loves music and beaches but for me it is more than that. Growing up in Vancouver I was accustomed to a typical straightforward lifestyle. By the time I could walk I knew I was destined for something greater, which in my head meant “get the hell out of Vancouver.”
Why Ibiza? Well it seems like my true definition of what heaven on earth would be: white sand beaches, crystal clear turquoise blue waters and a party that goes all night long. Plus, since it is the main hub for the best Electronic Dance Music in the world I think I would feel right at home. Laidback lifestyle, sunshine and the best music that the world has to offer seems like a good enough reason to hop on a plane and make my way to the dream island of Spain. You better believe the day I get there I will have a post and pictures for everyone to see.

Hello to all! My apologies for going on a blogging hiatus, life happened and I started slacking but I am back and excited to write and share my thoughts once again. I am taking a creative writing course at the moment so hopefully I will get better each and every day. Now since it is Friday I thought it was only suitable to do a “Friday Faves” post.
I am the queen of complaining about the weather in Vancouver. I might be the queen of complaining in general but today I will express to you about how in love I am with hiking in BC. Say what you want about Vancouver whether it be too much rain or a weak night life but one thing is for sure and that is that when it’s sunny there is nothing better than going for a hike.
Some of my favorite hikes are Quarry Rock in Deep Cove North Vancouver, The Chief in Squamish and of course the infamous Grouse Grind. Hiking incorporates so many different aspects leaving you fulfilled mentally and physically. It can be a mental battle at times, you are dealing with your mind telling you it’s time to quit and turn back. As well as the physical battle of your body telling you that you are tired. Then at times you feel complete serenity with your surroundings. I love nothing more than being out in nature looking around at the trees and realizing how beautiful our earth truly is. You are probably thinking I am some sort of a hippie but the answer is no, I just enjoy being outdoors.
Then the best feeling of all happens when you reach the top of the mountain, you have achieved your goal of the day, which most likely was finishing the hike. Hopefully along the way you learned how to get through mental battles with yourself and learn that if you just keep going you will reach the top. So what are you waiting for, get outside and go for a hike!
